WHAT WE ACHIEVED IN 2017

Charity, Culture and social enterprise award November 2017. Thrilled to win!!!

We installed DBT or 3D mammogram into the Manx Breast Unit in April 2017. This equipment has shown to increase cancer detection rates, particularly in younger women. It's also proven to have less false positives than conventional Mammogram. We have also funded new Ultrasound equipment for the Symptomatic Breast Clinic this has improved the surgical management of Breast Patients.

PATIENT QUIET ROOMS AT RONALDSWAY

AIRPORT AND JOHN LENNON AIRPORT

The Isle of Man Patient Transfer Service sends over 24,000 patients and their carers through Liverpool John Lennon Airport every year. Airports can be difficult places for sick people especially if flights are delayed or cancelled. So we decided to raise funds for these Quiet Rooms, which are now up and running not just for Breast Patients but for all Patients using the Island Patient Transfer Service.

ISLE OF MAN

NEWSPAPERS AWARDS FOR EXCELLENCE

In 2015 the Manx Breast Cancer Support Group won the Isle of Man Newspapers Awards for Excellence in the "Freedom to Flourish" category.

Sheila and David moved our Millie Meter up to £425,000.

Our goal is to have this Unit built as soon as possible. Our Target is £1.3 million. The faster we raise the money the sooner we can start to build our Dedicated Breast Unit.

In June 2014 we were lucky enough to have raised enough funds to begin groundworks on the new Breast Unit.
