Breast Cancer occurs in both men and women. It is the most common form of Cancer in women representing 35% of all Cancers diagnosed on the Island Early detection and improvements in treatment means that fewer people are dying from Breast Cancer. It is estimated that one in eight women will experience Breast Cancer at some point in their life.
On the Island we are currently screening women aged 50- 70 every 2 years. This means that Cancers found from screening are often smaller more easily treated cancers.Women aged 70 + can self refer
